Religions - Judaism
Judaism is the oldest religion still in practice and has had an influence on many religions, including Islam and Christianity. It originates from the the ancient Israelites saga, and the Jewish population is about 13 million people worldwide. Rabbis interpret sacred texts and religious law, and commandments from the Hebrew Bible. Orthodox Judaism believes the Written and Oral Torah are binding and unchanging, into two main styles, Modern Orthodox Judaism and Haredi Judaism. Modern Orthodox Judaism believes in strict observance of religious laws and commandments with a liberal approach to modern living. Haredi Judaism is conservative form of Judaism, revolving around study and prayer. Passover is a Jewish holiday commemorating the Exodus from Egypt, beginning the 14th day of the first month in the Hebrew calendar. Hanukkah is an eight day Jewish holiday, also called the Festival of Lights.
